What Changes When the Weight Lifts
EMDR doesn't ask you to rehash your entire history or spend months "talking through" the same painful stories.Â
It works directly with your brain and body to release what's been stuck — often faster than you'd expect.
Many clients notice real shifts within weeks, not years. Not because it's a shortcut — but because it's targeting the root of the problem instead of circling around it.
Expert EMDR Therapy in Connecticut

I know what it's like to sit in the client's chair.
I was 12 the first time I walked into a therapist's office — family therapy, in a home that wasn't functioning the way it should. I remember watching the therapist listen in a way no one had before. I remember the suggestions she made, and how my parents actually followed through. I remember things starting to shift.
That experience taught me something I've carried into my own practice: change that seems impossible often isn't. You just need the right support.
When I decided to pursue my Ph.D., the voice in my head told me I wasn't smart enough. That I didn't belong in a program like that. That voice — shame — is something I've spent years learning to recognize, in myself and in the brave people who sit across from me.
I did the work. I pushed through. And five years later, I graduated with a doctorate in Psychology and a much deeper understanding of what it takes to rewrite the stories we tell ourselves.
I'm a licensed therapist in Connecticut and New York, trained in EMDR, certified in Myers-Briggs, and a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. That last one matters more than you might think — because I've learned that healing isn't just cognitive. It lives in the body. EMDR works precisely because it honors that truth.
When clients trust me with their stories, I don't take it lightly. It's a gift — and one I still feel a sense of awe about, even after all these years.
If you're ready to stop carrying this alone, I'm here.

Finding Solid Ground
How Our Work Unfolds
Before we go deep, we build safety. You'll learn tools to stay grounded when emotions rise — in session and in daily life. We go at your pace. No rushing, no overwhelm.Â
This is where EMDR does its work. We target the memories, beliefs, and body sensations your nervous system has been holding. You don't have to talk through every detail. The emotional charge fades.Â
We consolidate what's shifted, address any remaining edges, and focus on who you are without the anxiety running the show. You leave with more than relief. You leave with a new foundation.

"After struggling with panic attacks for years, I was skeptical about trying EMDR. By my fourth session, I was able to drive on the highway again – something I hadn’t done in almost three years. The difference in my daily anxiety levels is night and day."
— Sarah K.Â

"I tried traditional talk therapy for my childhood trauma for over a decade with minimal progress. Six months of EMDR has done more for my healing than years of previous therapy. For the first time, I feel like the past doesn’t control me."
— Michael t.Â

"I came to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and frequent flashbacks tied to a traumatic event from years ago. The triggers no longer have the same control over my life.  It’s like those memories finally let go of me."
— Jeffrey M.Â
How Clients Describe the Shift:
- Less mental noise — the constant overthinking finally slows down
- More ease in your body — the chest tightness, jaw clenching, and tension headaches start to fade
- Calmer reactions — situations that used to spike your anxiety feel more manageable
- Energy that actually lasts — because you're not spending it all managing the anxiety underneath
- Energy that actually lasts — because you're not spending it all managing the anxiety underneath
But here's what nobody sees:
- Racing thoughts at 2 a.m
- The knot in your stomach before every meeting
- Emotional numbness that disconnects you from life
- The way you replay conversations for hours, wondering if you said the wrong thing.Â
These the unmistakeable signs of unresolved trauma.Â
Traditional talk therapy can take years – and you're ready for real change now.
